Letter to soccer parents

After discussion among the commissioners, and following the New York State guidelines set out by Governor Cuomo we are pleased to announce that we have opened registration for Fall recreational soccer.  We need volunteers for a committee to develop a protocol to ensure our program is safe for play.   You don’t need soccer experience to volunteer! If you have interest or questions about volunteering, please email the registrar at larchmontrecsoccer@gmail.com.

We will need more parent volunteers than ever for coaching and support given the need for implementation of new safety measures. In addition we anticipate the need for volunteer referees as there will be no training for new high school refs available this summer. Please register yourself as a coach when you sign your child up and if you can volunteer to be a safety monitor or referee, please make a note in the comments box. Unfortunately, if we don’t have enough volunteers we will have to cancel the program.

We will be allowing fewer players into the league this year to be sure safety protocols are observed. Lower total enrollment caps are set for each division; players whose parents volunteer to help will be given preferential registration status. We will maintain waiting lists for each division.

To register your child and yourself go to ljsl.org, click on the big red button or  ljsl.sportssignup.com and log in.   If you need a paper registration please contact the registrar. Please see the attached flyer for program details.

We cannot predict what will happen in the fall, nor how many families will sign up for rec soccer.    The format may be different from the past depending on how many players sign up for each division, but we are committed to providing a safe, fun environment for our kids.   If we have to cancel the season before September 12th you will receive a full refund.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at larchmontrecsoccer@gmail.com.   If you need a scholarship or help with registration, please let us know.  If you feel it’s better to wait a year we understand that as well and we’ll look forward to seeing you in 2021!
